Headstart children are exposed to age-appropriate literacy and numeracy activities. At this age the children learn fundamental reading, writing and mathematic skills in an engaging, individualised programme. We are flexible and alter the pace of teaching new concepts, based on each child’s individual needs.
We try to ensure that children will be as confident and capable as possible with regard to literacy and numeracy, for when they move onto the next stage of their early education.
There are set times within the daily timetable to introduce children to a more formalised learning environment. Within these times we also include a variety of hands-on activities and games, allowing children to enjoy learning whilst still building critical academic skills.
