Our Programme

Our programme is child-directed and teacher-guided. It is based on the New Zealand Early Childhood Curriculum Te Whaariki, with a stimulating physical and social environment. Children look forward to each day; and they are happily involved in imaginative, creative play, as well as real-life discovery learning. Our preschool environment is warm and welcoming, friendly and fun.

Forest Walks

The children at Springbank Preschool are inspired by the concept of the Forest Kindergartens in Northern Europe. They go on weekly excursions exploring the 36 rural acres surrounding Springbank School. The exploration of the outdoors raises an awareness and understanding of our natural environment. Whatever the weather, children are encouraged to play, explore and learn in a natural environment. The adult supervision is meant to assist rather than lead.
