We have two very passionate and highly experienced teachers, both of whom are fully qualified and New Zealand registered teachers. Our staff are committed to providing your child with a wonderful and warm environment to learn and play within each day. We recognise that in these early years the foundations of your child’s learning ability, attitude, and character are built, and we are here to help bring out their best qualities during their time at Headstart.
I have been working in early childhood education for over 17 years! My experience ranges from from infants to kindergarten and everyone in between … I absolutely love teaching as I believe the early years build a strong foundation for capable and confident members of our community. I believe each and every child has the unconditional right to flourish and be empowered to make choices about their learning and their interests. Our little people are our future, so why not equip them with the skills and strategies they need to succeed.
With nearly 20 years of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of working with students across a range of settings, including two wonderful years in Far North Queensland. I eventually returned home to be closer to family and the beautiful beaches that have always felt like home. Outside the classroom, I am a parent to three children aged 6 to 15, and I love spending my time reading, gardening, boating and enjoying the simple moments with my family. I am especially passionate about literacy and helping students grow as confident and capable learners.
