We have two very passionate and highly experienced teachers, both of whom are fully qualified and New Zealand registered teachers.  Our staff are committed to providing your child with a wonderful and warm environment to learn and play within each day.  We recognise that in these early years the foundations of your child’s learning ability, attitude, and character are built, and we are here to help bring out their best qualities during their time at Headstart.

Jackie Marriner: Higher Diploma Teaching (Primary)

I have been teaching for a number of years with a dedication and passion for working with children in their early experiences of school life. All children learn from a wide range of experiences, with excitement, challenges, fun, friendships and more. I relish being part of that rich time in a child’s life where play is work and work is play; and to develop their readiness for the more formal parts of learning that encompass the development of lifelong learners. I look forward to learning and growing together.

Jenna Pille: Dip Tchg (ECE)

I have been working in early childhood education for over 17 years! My experience ranges from from infants to kindergarten and everyone in between … I absolutely love teaching as I believe the early years build a strong foundation for capable and confident members of our community. I believe each and every child has the unconditional right to flourish and be empowered to make choices about their learning and their interests. Our little people are our future, so why not equip them with the skills and strategies they need to succeed.

Anna Wilson: B Tchg (ECE) - on maternity leave, back 2023

Why I love teaching is an easy question.  Who would not want to inspire our future generation to enjoy learning and question their theories through a fun and active day of play.  No day is the same, no hug is the same.  Each child is unique.  And I agree with the statement “children should have two things, one is roots and the other is wings.”

Robyn Parker: B Tchg (Primary) - on leave, back 2023

2020 will see me enter my 20th year working in education. In that time I have worked with children from ages 2  to 14, in a variety of early childhood and primary schools (both public and private).  I have had the pleasure of working alongside children as they start their school life, in a play-based learning environment; where literacy and numeracy are intermingled with the important work of play! Developing children’s sense of well being, confidence and who they are, in parallel with early literacy and numeracy skills, is my “zone”.
